EAO pushbuttons and switching elements are used extensively on railway vehicles but in some applications the switching capacity was found to be insufficient.

The answer was discovered by consultants in Derby who worked with Hertford Controls to adapt Schaltbau's railway-standard snap action switches to the EAO pushbutton actuator.

This resulted in the HCP range and today we offer many different variations utilizing S800, S826 and S820 switch blocks. Advantages include longer operational life, forced contact mechanism, increased current capability and the ability to inspect the contact condition through the transparent case.

The use of industry standard elements already specified for a variety of rail vehicle applications is also important in minimising stock holding.
